Another gorgeous evening cruising from Naples, Italy to Malta. Earlier in the day we drove the Amalfi Coast, from Positano to Solerno like a LeMans race card driver in a BUS. Augustino, the driver was extraordinaire – after watching his skills In action I would NEVER drive it myself. Loved the town of Amalfi, gotta go back there. Then to Pompey. An intellectual exercise until you’ve been there. Thousands of people obliterated from the blast of Vesuvius Mtn., & then buried in 30 feet of lava & ash. The excavation of the site began in 1748 & continues today.

Then to Pompey – so sobering. Thousands died in an instant when Vesuvius erupted – 5 times the explosive power of Mtn St Helens.

A huge “shout out” to our contractor who has built a beautiful addition onto our house for the best in-laws ever, Harold & Shirley Popplewell. Oh, by the way, the good looking guy in the middle is Pat Mousel, our contractor. The two bookends are Harold Mousel, on the right who taught Pat everything he knows & Cale Mousel on the left who will hopefully carry on the excellent family tradition. Three generations pouring concrete for people who earned money the hard way – on horse back wrangling registered Herefords.
