A hoot at The Range in Santa Margaritia last Thursday. The gal about to sing is the restaurant owners daughter – she’s written & sings her own music & was headed to a record contract recording the day after we were there. Demetrius, the guy in charge of waiting, stand up comic, cowboy who’s worked there forever (and very proud of her growing up) filled us in with all the details. A truly “down home country” evening. Gotta go back!

If you just happen to be driving down Hwy 101 between Paso Robles & San Luis Obispo & see a sign for Santa Margarita, take it and look hard for this restaurant. It’s very assuming from the outside but a special treat inside, outstanding food, ask for Demetrius, and on Thursday nights they have live music. Bring CASH, they don’t accept cards.
